So many young people buried there: wives, children and young men. Many of them died well before their time. Sir Francis Light, Penang’s first governor, is buried there as well. Many graves have been cleaned, but there are still a lot of older ones who are now unknown due to the general decay. It is interesting to walk around Old Protestant Cemetery and to imagine what it would have been like in the early days.
