Hotel Malaysia in Georgetown is an old hotel and is well worth the money for the budget conscious. Rooms are spacious, very clean and bright. The water pressure for the shower is excellent. Early morning you need to walk the back streets where you will find all of the hawkers selling their goods from clothes to fresh pork, fish, frogs, etc.; not for the squeamish, but it is so interesting to see how people live.
